Hoop Workshops Starting in June

As some of you may know, I will be moving to Pueblo, CO at the end of June.Although this is sad, I refuse to get down and am determined to see it as a newopportunity to bring hoops to a different part of Colorado.

That being said, I will remain active in the Denver area thanks to a newstudio.

Tula Studio has just opened up in Englewood, CO and they have beenkind enough to ask me to offer hoop workshops. And so, I will be holding 2different workshops every 3rd Friday of the month starting in June.

The first workshop is mainly for beginning hoops who want to work onmoving with the hoop. We will be focusing on mastering waist hooping andintroducing hoop dance by integrating simple dance moves into regular waisthooping. It should be fun! I will also be teaching a little bit of choreography.

The second workshop will be focused on hoop tricks. A lot of peopleget bored with just waist hooping and this is a way to bring a new dimensioninto their practice. You will be learning how to hoop on different parts of thebody and will get a full body workout as an added bonus!

I am very excited to be given this fantastic opportunity! And I hopeyou are too. I look forward to growing this endeavor.

Are Coloradoans not as skinny as once thought?

The magazine 5280 recently published an article about the rising rate of obesity in America. According to the article, 19.1%of adults in Colorado are obese and children are not fairing much better. They also did their own research on how Coloradoans who consider themselves "moderately" to "very" healthy maintain their health. Hooping wasn't mentioned, but maybe we canchange that in the future. There is still hope for Coloradoans to combat the rising rate ofobesity in our state and a step in the right direction doesn't have to be amajor life change - baby steps make for lasting results. Eat more fresh foods, eat out less and exercise more.

 

Getting more exercise is as easy as hooping for 10 minutes a day,hooping during the commercial of your favorite shows and hooping while talking on the phone. Take it one day at a time.

A Hooping Rhyme


You can hoop on the phone at your home or in

the yard. Don’t go berserk at work cause

 hooping’s great on your break or

at your desk to relieve some stress. Did you know

it’s understood that in the woods you could hoop

good? Hoop on a mountain or by a fountain and

at the beach-it’s not out of reach! Hoop on the sand

near a band with ice cream in your hand. There is no

limit to where you hoop, whether by yourself or

in a group and there is no doubt that hooping’s fun

in the shade or in the sun!
